The Village – Child Okeford

Bloomfield is situated on the outskirts of Child Okeford.

Child Okeford is a fantastic village with all the amenities you could need.

There are two highly recommended pubs, The Saxon Inn and The Bakers Arms, who both serve food daily.

There is a charming village shop and Post Office. The shop is kept well stocked with all your everyday requirements including fresh bread and newspapers. Also whilst there you can sit in the cafe area and enjoy a morning coffee of afternoon tea.

Gold Hill Organic Farm is located a short walk from Bloomfield. All produce is either produced or grown on site or has been sourced locally. There is also a cafe that serves lunches, cakes, tea and coffee.

In the courtyard of Gold Hill Farm there is also an Artist Studio and A Glassblowers Studio both of who are happy to welcome guests to view their work or watch them in action.

Child Okeford also has a small play park and large playing field to run around. The play park is fenced off from the football field to keep younger children safe. The park consists of several play towers with slides. There is also parking available.

The section of the North Dorset Trailway that runs along the outskirts of Child Okeford can be picked up at Bere Marsh on the A357. Here you can join the Trailway and choose to either head towards Sturminster Newton or Blandford. If you choose to drive, there are free parking spaces at the Bere Marsh/A357 location.
