Testimonials

Below are some of our 2019 reviews posted on Trip Advisor.

Just had 7 nights in one of the yurts, fantastic place with everything you could possibly need provided for you. The owners are the nicest family you’ll meet and so helpful and friendly. It was clean, safe (especially for little ‘uns) and full of spectacular views, glorious wildlife and lots of extras provided for you that you don’t normally find when camping. Lovely pub The Bakers Arms a mile walk away, fab food & hosts and a nearby farm with cafe and onsite glassblowing shop which is fascinating! Highly recommend, we’ll be going back for sure!

This place is amazing
If your thinking about going just do it, you won’t regret it. Amazing layout of yurts you feel like your on your own. Very safe for children with no cars on site. Children can have freedom they wouldn’t get anywhere else. The family who run it are lovely people. I don’t need to say any more.

As soon as I arrived at Bloomfield I was greeted by Jo and her daughter and was made to feel so welcome from the start. Was showed around which they didn’t have to but made me feel at home. The grounds are stunning and so well kept. The wildlife is gorgeous and the facilities are clean and tidy. Would white happily stay again and will recommend to everyone I know. Thank you Jo and we hope to see again soon, keep up the good work.

Delighted to have found this site. Stayed Mon-Fri for a relaxing, off grid, de stressing break.
The site is beautifully well kept, the yurts are perfect, and the facilities are well thought out and maintained.
Jo and Stuart have thought of everything, with so many little touches making you feel welcome and cared for. Their presence throughout is reassuring without being intrusive.
The site and surroundings are stunning.
I really cannot praise Bloomfield camping enough.
Weekday breaks in term time highly recommended for those with busy lives or stressful jobs – you will come away feeling grounded and relaxed.

Although we regularly camp, this was our first experience of glamping and we picked a winner with Bloomfield! The site is beautiful, with only 4 yurts and 1 bell tent dotted about, which means you have absolute privacy. Each pitch has its own ‘kitchen’ hut which has everything you could need, plus a covered eating area which was really useful when the showers started. The owners, Jo and Stuart, have added so many lovely touches: complimentary marshmallows and 2 local ciders waiting for us in our bell tent, along with a pack of cards and colouring books etc for the kids; a range of indoor and outdoor games available and a well-stocked honesty shop at reception. In addition, everything was spotlessly clean and well-tended. The (very friendly) peacocks also added a touch of colour! Really can’t fault it – we will definitely be back…

Can’t fault this place. We stayed for 2 nights in late May for our daughter’s 4th birthday.
Jo and Stuart were excellent hosts and when we arrived they’d put up birthday bunting, balloons and a birthday cake with candles for our daughter’s birthday! She was thrilled. They also left us 2 bottles of local cider, which we were thrilled with, along with marshmallows for roasting on the fire.
The tent itself is huge and very well kitted out. The private kitchen hut next to the tent is great with everything you need.
The plots themselves are quite separate from each other so it feels very private.
The kids loved the trampoline and sports and games on site.
The facilities block feels really clean and warm.
This is a great site that feels really rural – a great getaway.
We just wished we’d booked to stay longer, but we’ll definitely be back!

Lucky enough to spend a weekend glamping at Bloomfield camping .
The yurts are first class and the pitches are massive . with only 4 on the site + a bell tent . The area covers 7 acres with several small lakes which are well fenced of for safety for the children .
No mains but with solar panels the is electricity in the toilet / shower block already no with a couple of freezers .We had a fantastic weekend and would recommend this if you want a weekend break or short holiday a step up from normal site.

Lovely site hosted by Jo and Stuart who are super helpful. Lovely spot with enough privacy to be a very relaxing trip. Great area for kids to run around freely in a safe environment. Highly recommend a trip.

We stayed in the Poplar yurt from mon-fri.
Jo, Stuart and family were so welcoming and helpful when we arrived and throughout the week. We had firewood brought to us all every day (gets cold at night) and also for the fire pit – perfect for bbq’s and marshmallows! this was one of the best breaks we have had for a long time.
The yurt has everything you could need, including the kitchen shed that also has everything, including an oven if raining.
The small details when we arrived included firewood, burners, marshmallows and X2 complementary ciders! Everything was so clean and homely.
The kids absolutely loved the trampoline and play area. They made some fantastic friends and everyone played really nicely.
There are only 4 yurts and 1 bell tent, making it not overcrowded or noisy like most places. You could also borrow complimentary games from the reception and maps are provided for local walks around the region.
The large facilities area includes 2 toilets, showers and washrooms, washing up sink, sofa, and radio. Plenty of toilet rolls, washing up liquid and hand-cleaner are supplied. There are also 2 freezers containing cold packs and space for frozen foods if needed.
On site there is a gated nature reserve type of area with 2 lakes. These are populated with some wild birds, including peacocks.
There are areas of seating, hidden dens, rope swings, hammocks and activities for the kids to find and tick off on the notice board during your stay.
The reception area has lots of basic bits you could need. It is not a large convenience store but it does provide some essentials. If you need anything else a convenience store is located in child okefield less than 1 mile up the road – within walking distance.
The local pub is called the Saxon inn. It is a 25 minute off road walk from the site. Make sure to put on some longer trousers as some stinging nettles are on route through the path, especially for younger kids. We visited the pub twice and the food is great, including the local ales.
This is a great place and we will defiantly come back to visit again! highly recommended!

We have just returned from our first yurting holiday and we can not wait to book again at Bloomfield.
The yurt itself was pristine and so beautiful, with lovely added touches such as marshmallows and activities for our children. The beds were SO comfortable and, with the use of the wood burner, we were cosy warm at night.
The facilities are all very clean and in excellent working order.
One of the loveliest experiences of this site was the space each yurt has. It feels so private yet safe enough for the children to go off and explore.
We all loved laying in bed listening to the many birds, especially Dave the Peacock!
Jo is absolutely lovely and so helpful, nothing was too much trouble.
We can highly recommend Bloomfield and will certainly be coming back.

We stayed at Bloomfield for 3 nights over the Easter weekend with 2 children. There are four large, very well equipped yurts (v comfortable beds) with additional kitchen and covered outdoor seating area for each yurt, as well as a large private grass area. There is also a fire pit with further outdoor seating for each pitch. Communal wash facilities are excellent with everything you would need, including a freezer for each family. There is a small shop which sells souvenirs and a small amount of food and snacks.
The rest of the campsite it equally as impressive with a large play area for the children – there is a trampoline set into the ground, ball games area as well as a pond area where there are chickens and peacocks.
Having just 4 yurts on a very large site is what makes Bloomfield such a great find. The children can play for hours and it is not just a place to sleep and eat – whereas on other camping trips we have always planned days out, at Bloomfield we spent almost a whole day on the site, enjoying the space and facilities – followed by a nice walk into the village for a drink at the local pub, which has a great pub garden.
Hambeldon Hill is also a very short walk away, and the views from the top are great – well worth doing. There are lots of things to do locally, we did a day at the beach – (about an hour drive) as the weather was so good when we stayed.
The new owners, Jo and Stuart, couldn’t do enough to make us feel welcome – there were Easter eggs for the children in the yurts when we arrived as well as cold cider for us! There was colouring and things to do for the children in the yurt as well as plenty of games and outdoor equipment in the communal areas.
We will definitely be returning – don’t hesitate to book, this is well worth a visit.
